INNA MELNIKOV will perform Saturday September 11 10:00-11:00 and Sunday Sept. 12 10:00-11:00 Inna Melnikov is a jazz violinist performing as a part of the band "The Ten Cats" that was named after the small back room Chicago bar where the band started jamming over 3 years ago. The Ten Cats are a gypsy swing band with a jazz standard sensibility. They play American jazz standards and tunes in style and written by Django Reinhardt and Stephane Grappelli. THE WILMETTE COMMUNITY BAND will perform Saturday September 11 12:20-2:00 The Wilmette Community Band was founded in 1981 and has ties to the St. Joseph's Coronet Band of Wilmette which was founded in 1890. The band meets Thursday evening at The Wilmette Junior, HS. at 620 Locust Rd. in Wilmette, from 7:30pm to 9pm. The Band repertoire includes traditional band music from Sousa marches to show tunes. EVANSTON SCHOOL OF ROCK will perform Saturday September 11 2:00-3:00 The Paul Green School of Rock Music is a performance based music education program. This means it is our goal to get every student on stage rocking!!! We accomplish this through weekly private lessons and group rehearsals. NIKKI NOVICKIS will perform Saturday September 11 3:00-4:00 and Sunday Sept. 12 2:00-3:00 Chicago born and raised singer/songwriter, acoustic guitar musician, Nikki Novickis has traveled and performed all through the United States gathering musical ideas and styles. She writes about love and life with a rock and roll groove. Her music takes the best of country, rock and gospel and adds a hint of jazz and punk. Watch for her album coming out in 2008. Jim Kendros Sunday Sept. 12 11:00-12:00 Lake Forest Symphony, pre-concert lecturer, Jim Kendros will offer an engaging performance of Popular and Celtic melodies on instruments whose history dates back to 1250 AD, These mystical sounds you may never have before heard before! Experience the haunting strains of the Nyckelharpa (or Keyed Violin from Sweden) which was used in churches from 1350 AD until the Baroque Era. Jim will also delight your senses with the magical Hurdy Gurdy, an instrument which dominated and delighted French aristocratic courts from the early 1500s to the time of Mozart.
