Beverly Behrens graduated from the University of South Dakota (BFA cum laude), has continued her education with workshops and classes at the Evanston Art Center, and has studied with artists Alain Gavin, of The Art Institute of Chicago, James Wisnowski, and Robert Krajecki of the Palette and Chisel, Chicago.
As staff artist for the Wilmette Public Library she creates posters, wall murals, constructions, and window art to highlight their programs.
A participant in local charities, she is among 30 regional artists juried into the Gala of the Arts held by Catholic Charities of Chicago. Her note cards are in the gift shop of St. David's Episcopal Church, Glenview, and available for order on her web site, CountryGardenWatercolors.com. In addition to juried shows and art fairs in the North Shore area, her paintings may be seen at various galleries in Lake Forest and Lake Bluff.
She is a member of art organizations including The Art Institute of Chicago and the Wilmette Arts Guild.
The University of South Dakota is hosting an exhibit of Beverly's work from April 8 through May 31. The show, "Country Garden Watercolors," is the inaugural exhibition in a series at the Wagner Alumni Center in Vermillion, South Dakota.
